What a WooCommerce to Shopify migration must preserve
01
WooCommerce data does not map directly to Shopify
WooCommerce and Shopify organize store data differently. Product attributes and variations rarely map perfectly. Custom fields and plugin data may need a new destination. Complex options often require transformation rather than direct copying.
02
Important content and SEO signals can be lost
Important products and content need an explicit destination in Shopify. Established URLs also need a redirect plan so customers and search engines can find the replacement pages.
03
The new store must be operational on launch day
Before launch, we place test orders to check that your Shopify store is ready to sell. Payment and shipping behavior must be validated. Tax rules and notifications must also work. Analytics and customer access need testing. Critical apps must be ready for launch.

Our Process
How we work with you
01
We review your WooCommerce store
We inventory the available data and establish source counts. Product structures receive a separate review from website content. Media and URLs are documented. We also record plugin dependencies and operational requirements before mapping begins.
02
We plan how your data will move
We document where your products, customer information, and content will go in Shopify. We also identify anything that needs a different setup or cannot be transferred.
03
We build and check your Shopify store
We configure the Shopify store and import the agreed data. We build your storefront and compare the imported data with your WooCommerce store to find and correct problems.
04
We launch your store and check the migration
We complete the final data steps and test orders and tracking. Then we coordinate the domain and redirects before reviewing the store after launch.
Can you migrate WooCommerce store data and content to Shopify?
Yes, when the source data is available and the destination supports it. We inventory each data type and document the migration rules before import.
Do you migrate historical WooCommerce orders?
No, historical orders are not included in Ventura’s standard WooCommerce-to-Shopify migration scope. We can discuss archival or reference options separately.
Will customers keep their passwords after the migration?
WooCommerce passwords cannot normally be transferred into Shopify as usable passwords. Customer profiles can be imported, and customers must activate access through Shopify.
How do you protect SEO when URLs change?
We inventory valuable source URLs and map each one to a destination. Redirects are implemented before launch. Useful metadata is preserved where practical. After launch, we review Search Console and crawl behavior.
Can every WooCommerce plugin be recreated in Shopify?
No. We document the business purpose of important plugins and determine whether Shopify supports it natively, through an app, through custom work, or through a changed process.
