Use redirects whenever you change a page’s address or retire a product, so visitors (and search engines) end up on the right page instead of a 404 error.

How to create a redirect on Shopify:

  1. Log in to your‑store.myshopify.com/admin so you’re on the main dashboard.
  2. In the left‑hand sidebar, click Content.
  3. Under Content, click Menus.
  4. Click the URL redirects button in the top right.
  5. Click Create URL redirect in the top right.
  6. In Redirect from, type the old path (e.g., /shirts).
  7. In Redirect to, type the new destination (e.g., /tshirts).
  8. Click Save redirect.

Test the redirect: Open a new browser tab and visit your‑store.com/shirts. You should land instantly on your‑store.com/tshirts.

Why use redirects?

Redirects help preserve your site's traffic and SEO rankings by guiding visitors and search engines to the correct page when a URL changes or a product is removed. Instead of hitting a frustrating 404 error, users are smoothly taken to a relevant page, improving their experience and keeping your site reliable.

You’re all set! Repeat the steps for any other pages you’ve moved or renamed.
